Overview
Great Lake Swimmers, an indie-folk group led by Tony Dekker, headline this Seattle concert at The Sunset Tavern, with the duo Jesse Sykes & The Sweet Hereafter as support act.
Great Lake Swimmers are an indie-folk group led by Tony Dekker and based in Southern Ontario. The project emerged in the early 2000s, and its music sits within blues, country and folk. Acoustic instruments, rural textures and wistful vocals define the sound.
Much of the group's recorded work was made in unusual places. Its albums were recorded in old grain silos and in country churches in rural areas, and the spaces shaped the resonance of the records. The personnel has been a revolving cast over the years, with different musicians taking part in the project.
In concert, the group plays homespun folk and lush Americana. This show is presented by The Crocodile, with Jesse Sykes & The Sweet Hereafter, a duo, opening. The Sunset Tavern hosts concerts and shows in Seattle.
