The Jazz Room: A Journey to the Heart of New Orleans

A live jazz performance by musicians and vocalists that traces the music back to its roots in New Orleans, staged at CHAPEL at Liberty Station in San Diego.

The Jazz Room: A Journey to the Heart of New Orleans follows jazz back to New Orleans, the birthplace of the genre. The program combines a selection of classic pieces with spontaneous improvisation, so each performance moves between familiar repertoire and the free spirit that defines the music.

The show features jazz musicians and vocalists playing saxophone, trumpet and other jazz instruments. The emphasis is on live playing, with improvised passages woven into the classics.

The evening suits listeners who want a jazz set rooted in New Orleans tradition. The event takes place at CHAPEL at Liberty Station, a religious building on Roosevelt Road in San Diego.
