Trouble Man: A Marvin Gaye Tribute

A tribute show to the soul singer Marvin Gaye, titled after his 1972 soundtrack Trouble Man, at the Chrome Showroom in Las Vegas. The program draws on R&B, soul, funk, gospel and reggae.

Trouble Man: A Marvin Gaye Tribute is a tribute to Marvin Gaye, the American singer and songwriter who recorded for Motown before moving into more socially direct work. It is not a performance by Gaye himself. The title refers to the soundtrack Gaye recorded for the 1972 film Trouble Man, an album that blends soul and funk arrangements. The tribute covers the genres tied to his catalog: R&B, soul, funk, gospel and reggae.

Gaye's best-known records include What's Going On (1971), a concept album on social and environmental themes, and Let's Get It On (1973), whose title track became one of his biggest hits. His music grew out of the gospel roots of his early singing and the polished sound of Motown's 1960s releases.

The Chrome Showroom at Santa Fe Station Hotel & Casino hosts concerts and shows in Las Vegas. The evening suits listeners who follow classic soul and Motown, and those curious how Gaye's songs are reinterpreted on stage.
