Anna von Hausswolff is a Swedish musician and composer, active since 2008, whose work is built around the pipe organ. The music moves between heavy, doom-laden rock songs and quieter organ pieces, with breath and its holding and release as a recurring idea. The debut album, Singing From the Grave (2010), came before Ceremony (2012), which marked a breakthrough.

The sixth LP, ICONOCLASTS, was released on the Swedish label YEAR0001, the project's first release with that label. Produced by von Hausswolff and longtime collaborator Filip Leyman, the record adds a poppier, more vibrant sound and features Ethel Cain, Abul Mogard, Iggy Pop and Maria von Hausswolf. Its themes include love, freedom and autonomy, and its title points to reimagining personal symbols such as commitment, time, dependency and belief. Atlas, who carries the weight of the world, serves as a sympathetic figure in the songs.

Union Stage hosts concerts and shows in Washington. The evening suits listeners interested in the pipe organ's place within rock and pop songwriting, and in the album's blend of anthemic arrangements and experimental composition.
