Bluegrass Breakdown

Bluegrass Breakdown is a roots music act working in blues, country and folk, with a concert at Judson & Moore Distillery in Chicago. The evening sits within American traditional music.

Bluegrass Breakdown works in blues, country and folk, three American roots traditions. Its name points to bluegrass, a style that grew out of Southern string-band music and is built on fast, interwoven picking. Blues, country and folk form the musical core of the project, and the name places it within that roots lineage.

Blues draws on repeated chord forms and emotional narrative, country on storytelling lyrics, and folk on songs passed down through generations. Together they give the repertoire a common thread of traditional American song.

The concert takes place at Judson & Moore Distillery, a Chicago venue that hosts concerts and shows. The night suits listeners who follow roots and American traditional music and want to hear those styles performed live in the city.
