Circle Jerks X Repo Man

A concert at the Castro Theatre in San Francisco with Circle Jerks, the Los Angeles hardcore punk band, and Repo Man on the same bill.

Circle Jerks formed in Los Angeles in 1978, with Keith Morris on vocals and Greg Hetson on guitar, and became one of the central bands of the early Los Angeles hardcore punk scene. Morris had previously sung for Black Flag. The group's debut album, Group Sex, came out on Frontier Records in 1980, and its songs are short, fast and driven by sardonic lyrics. Hetson later played guitar with Bad Religion.

The Castro Theatre, a historic movie house in San Francisco's Castro district, hosts concerts and shows. This evening pairs Circle Jerks with Repo Man as the bill's two acts.

The night suits listeners who follow Los Angeles punk from its early-1980s roots, and anyone tracing the line from Black Flag through Circle Jerks to Bad Religion.
