Clap Your Hands Say Yeah

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, an American indie rock band, plays a concert at The Atlantis in Washington, D.C. The project's catalog begins with a self-titled debut album from 2005.

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, often abbreviated CYHSY, is an American indie rock band formed in New York in 2004. Led by singer Alec Ounsworth, the group released its self-titled debut album in 2005 on Wichita Recordings, and that record remains the starting point for its catalog.

The band's music sits within pop, rock and indie, with Ounsworth's vocals at the center of the songs. Listeners who know the 2005 album will recognize the band's early sound, which set the group apart in the New York indie scene of the mid-2000s.

This show at The Atlantis suits fans of indie rock who want to hear the band's work from its first album onward. The Atlantis hosts concerts and shows in Washington, and this performance adds an indie rock evening to the city's live music calendar.
