Danny Brown

Danny Brown is a rap concert at Outset in Chicago. The American rapper, signed to Warp, works across punk rap, progressive hip-hop and alternative hip-hop.

Danny Brown is an American rapper born in 1981 in Detroit and active since 2003. The artist is signed to Warp, and the music is rooted in punk rap, progressive hip-hop and alternative hip-hop. Albums from the catalog include XXX (2011), Old (2013) and Atrocity Exhibition (2016), which show the range of the style from abrasive, confrontational verses to more experimental production.

Outset hosts concerts and shows in Chicago, and this rap performance is part of its program. The night suits listeners who follow the Detroit rap scene and the alternative side of hip-hop, and those already familiar with the Warp catalog.

The project's work sits between the punk and experimental strands of rap, so the evening is a chance to hear a catalog built on sharp lyrics and unconventional beats in a Chicago room.
