Demola

A concert by Demola, an act working across R&B, soul, funk, gospel and reggae, at Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles.

Demola is an act whose music combines R&B, soul, funk, gospel and reggae. Each of these styles has its own lineage, from the vocal tradition of gospel to the offbeat rhythms of reggae, and this concert brings them together in one evening.

Teragram Ballroom hosts concerts and shows in Los Angeles, and the evening suits listeners who follow R&B, soul, funk, gospel or reggae and want to hear several of these traditions in one performance.

Funk and soul trace back to mid-twentieth-century African American popular music, while reggae developed in Jamaica, which is why the genres in this bill come from two distinct musical traditions.
