Ms Lauryn Hill & Wyclef Jean Celebrating 30 years of Fugees The Score

Ms. Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean bring a program marking 30 years since the Fugees album The Score, released in 1996, to the Hollywood Bowl in Hollywood.

Ms. Lauryn Hill is an American-Beninese singer, rapper, singer-songwriter and producer working in hip hop soul and contemporary R&B. Born in 1975 in East Orange, New Jersey, Ms. Lauryn Hill signed to Columbia Records as early as 1988 and later became a member of the Fugees. Wyclef Jean is a Haitian-American musician who co-founded the group with Ms. Lauryn Hill and Pras Michel.

The Fugees released The Score in 1996. The album blends hip-hop with soul, reggae and gospel, and includes the group's versions of Roberta Flack's "Killing Me Softly with His Song" and Bob Marley's "No Woman, No Cry." The title of this evening points directly to that record, so the material centers on the Fugees catalog.

The Hollywood Bowl, in Hollywood, hosts concerts and shows. The night is aimed at listeners who follow hip-hop soul and the Fugees'album, and at anyone interested in the work of two artists who shaped the group's sound.
