Doom Scroll, Constant Headache

A Chicago concert at Reggies Music Joint, pairing Doom Scroll and Constant Headache, two acts working within the blues, country and folk traditions.

Doom Scroll and Constant Headache appear together on this bill, which places them within blues, country and folk. These three traditions share roots in American song: blues grew out of African American work songs and field hollers in the Mississippi Delta, while country and folk carry ballad forms and string-based arrangements passed between generations of songwriters.

Reggies Music Joint hosts concerts and shows in Chicago, and this night brings together two acts whose shared genres make the program a single evening of roots-based music. Listeners who follow blues, country or folk will find a common thread across both performances. Each of these forms has a long history in live performance, from juke joints and front porches to concert halls.
