Drunk Theatre

Drunk Theatre is an improvised comedy show at the Santa Monica Playhouse, in which one comedian takes five shots of whiskey and tries to perform a play with five sober cast members.

The premise is simple: a comedian drinks five shots of whiskey in a row, then joins five sober comedians to improvise a play. Nothing is scripted in advance, so each scene is built on the spot, and the result depends on how the cast responds to one another and to the changing state of their fellow performer.

The cast named for the production is Sahil Desai, Ittai Geiger, Cassie Grilley, Rodd Naimi and Oleg Trofimov. Reviews quoted by the production include one describing the show as "hilariously fantastical," and another praising its improvised comedy as a hit rather than a miss.

The show is staged at the Santa Monica Playhouse, a venue that hosts concerts and shows. It suits audiences who enjoy improvised comedy, since the humor comes from the cast reacting to each other in real time.
