Dylan Thom - Chicago House Show

An electronic concert by Dylan Thom, presented as a Chicago house show that places the performance in the house music tradition that began in the city in the early 1980s.

Dylan Thom is an electronic act, and this concert is titled Chicago House Show, placing it within the house tradition that took shape in Chicago in the early 1980s. That music grew out of club nights built on disco records, with a steady four-on-the-floor kick drum, synthesizers and drum machines. The name comes from The Warehouse, the club where the sound was first heard in the city.

The title signals a set rooted in that lineage rather than in other electronic styles, which suits listeners who follow dance music tied to Chicago's clubs and want to hear the style performed locally. Chicago house went on to influence electronic dance music around the world, and its club roots still shape how the music is danced to.
