Exosphere is a hard rock and metal act, and this concert brings its music to Cambridge. Hard rock builds on the amplified guitar riffs and driving rhythms of 1970s blues-based rock, while metal pushes those elements toward greater volume, distortion and heaviness.

The concert takes place at Middle East Upstairs, a Cambridge venue that hosts concerts and shows. The night suits listeners who follow heavy guitar music and want to see a band perform live in the city.

For anyone new to the genre, Black Sabbath, whose 1970 debut album is often cited as a starting point for heavy metal, offers a useful reference point for the sound's roots.
