Heathers

Heathers is a musical staged at New World Stages in New York, presented in its Stage 1 theater. It is a stage musical, the genre under which this production is listed.

Heathers is a musical based on the 1988 teen comedy film of the same name, with a stage adaptation that keeps the film's sharp satire of high school cliques, peer pressure and teenage cruelty. The production is performed by the cast credited under the title, and the story follows a group of students at a suburban high school who are dominated by a popular clique and the characters who try to break free from it.

For audiences deciding whether to book, the show is a musical theater production with a book, songs and a fully staged narrative rather than a concert. Its humor is dark and pointed, so it suits adults and older teenagers who enjoy satire and sharp, uncompromising comedy.

New World Stages is a theater complex on West 50th Street in Midtown Manhattan, and this production is presented in its Stage 1 space, which hosts concerts and shows in New York.
