The Great Gatsby

The Great Gatsby is a musical staged at the Broadway Theatre in New York, adapting F. Scott Fitzgerald's 1925 novel about Jay Gatsby and the world of Long Island's wealthy set in the 1920s.

This production is a musical, presented at the Broadway Theatre, a venue that hosts concerts and shows in New York. The story follows the novel's narrator, Nick Carraway, as he moves next to the mansion of the mysterious Jay Gatsby and becomes drawn into the lavish parties, old loves and social rivalries of the Jazz Age.

Fitzgerald's novel, published in 1925, is a central text of American literature, and the musical draws on its characters and its portrait of wealth, ambition and disillusion in the years after World War I. Audiences who know the book will recognize its key figures, including Daisy Buchanan and Tom Buchanan, whose relationships drive the plot.

The musical suits theatergoers interested in a period story told through song and dance, and in a classic American novel brought to the stage. The Broadway Theatre is a house for musicals and shows, and this production is a good fit for anyone curious about how Fitzgerald's narrative translates to the stage.
