Laney Jones

A New Orleans concert by Laney Jones, whose music draws on blues, country and folk roots traditions, staged at Gasa Gasa, a concert and performance venue in the city.

Laney Jones is an artist whose music draws on blues, country and folk, three roots traditions that have long overlapped in American songwriting. Listeners who follow this lineage will recognize how the rural South's field and porch songs fed the blues forms that later shaped country and folk writing. Blues supplies the twelve-bar and call-and-response structures, country contributes story-driven vocals, and folk keeps the emphasis on the song itself.

Gasa Gasa is a concert and performance venue in New Orleans, and this evening features Laney Jones. It suits listeners who want a roots-focused night of blues, country and folk in the city's live music scene.
