Mel Bryant & the Mercy Makers is a punk rock project based in East Nashville, formed by musicians raised on the East Coast. Its sound draws on pop punk, classic rock, modern sad girl songwriting and alt country, with grunge and country elements in the writing. The band describes its music as punk rock for grown-up theater kids.

The project is fully independent and works do-it-yourself: all of its music is recorded in a backyard barn converted into a studio. The songs are diary-like and direct, dealing with love, justice, community, introspection and radical acceptance.

Molly Compton is also on the bill. Color Club hosts concerts and shows in Chicago, and this lineup of Mel Bryant & the Mercy Makers and Molly Compton takes its stage for this show.
