Overview
Paco Versailles is a collaboration between Vahagni, a guitarist, composer and producer, and Ryan Merchant, a songwriter and producer. Their music pairs flamenco guitar figures with disco-leaning electronic production and sung vocals, a hybrid the project calls "Dancemenco."
The name grew out of two main influences: the Spanish guitarist Paco de Lucía, and the French electronic acts Daft Punk and Air, both from the Paris suburb of Versailles. The current album is Azucar, and this Chicago show is part of The Azúcar Tour.
Chop Shop is a Chicago venue that hosts concerts and shows. The evening suits listeners interested in flamenco guitar combined with dance-oriented electronic production.
