Rave & Resistance

An electronic music evening in Chicago, with sulffffffur and Silver October on the bill under the title Rave & Resistance.

Rave & Resistance brings together two acts, sulffffffur and Silver October, in an electronic music night in Chicago. The title pairs the word rave with resistance, placing the evening within the wider tradition of electronic dance music.

Electronic music is a broad family of styles built on synthesizers, drum machines, samplers, and computer-based production. Its dance-oriented strands grew largely out of club and rave culture in the late 1980s, when DJs and producers began building long, repetitive tracks for dancing.

The bill suits listeners who follow electronic music in its live form. Both acts appear under the same genre for this night, so the pairing of the two names is the main point to weigh when deciding whether to attend.
