Rowena Wise

A San Francisco concert by Rowena Wise, an act working in blues, country and folk, at Cafe Du Nord, a city venue for concerts and shows.

Rowena Wise works in blues, country and folk, three genres that share roots in American vernacular song. The music of this act is built on those traditions, and this concert brings that material to San Francisco.

Cafe Du Nord hosts concerts and shows in the city. The evening suits listeners who follow roots music and want to hear blues, country and folk performed live, in a venue that presents live music.

For newcomers to these styles, the three genres share a common thread: the blues supplies the harmonic and emotional base, country contributes the narrative lyric, and folk brings an acoustic, song-centered approach to storytelling.
