Silvestre Dangond - El Baile de Todos

Silvestre Dangond presents El Baile de Todos at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles, a world music concert rooted in the vallenato tradition of Colombia.

Silvestre Dangond is a Colombian vallenato singer and accordion player from Valledupar, a city widely regarded as the home of the genre. Vallenato grew out of the Caribbean region of Colombia and is built on the accordion, the caja drum and the guacharra scraper, with lyrics that often tell stories and sing about everyday life. The title of this production, El Baile de Todos, translates as "Everyone's Dance," and it places Dangond's work within the dance-driven side of that tradition.

The concert belongs to the world music category, and it suits listeners interested in Colombian folk music, accordion-led rhythms and the sung narratives of vallenato. It is also a good fit for audiences who want to hear the genre performed by one of its contemporary artists rather than through recordings alone.

The Orpheum Theatre is a Los Angeles venue that hosts concerts and shows, and this date brings the production to its stage on this visit to the city.
