Slum Village & Pete Rock

A rap bill pairing Slum Village, the Detroit hip-hop group, with producer, rapper and DJ Pete Rock, with Vice Soulectric, Hezekiah, Amxxr and Cosmo Baker also on the lineup, at Brooklyn Bowl Philadelphia.

Pete Rock is an American music producer, rapper and DJ, born in the Bronx in 1970 and active since 1987. His work is associated with golden age hip-hop, experimental hip-hop and jazz rap, and it is built largely on the production of beats rather than on a single frontman's act.

Slum Village is a hip-hop group from Detroit, formed in the mid-1990s. Its album Fantastic, Vol. 2, released in 2000, is one of its best-known records, and the group is linked to the Detroit scene's emphasis on production and rhythm. The bill also features Vice Soulectric, Hezekiah, Amxxr and Cosmo Baker.

The show takes place at Brooklyn Bowl Philadelphia, a concert and performance venue in Philadelphia. The night suits listeners who follow hip-hop production and the work of both Detroit and New York rap, from the golden age onward.
