Solo Gems Tour

Steve Hackett brings the Solo Gems Tour to the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C., a concert by the English guitarist, composer and performer of rock and progressive rock.

Steve Hackett was born in London in 1950 and began a career in 1968. From 1971 to 1977, Hackett was the lead guitarist of the progressive rock band Genesis, featuring on albums such as Nursery Cryme and Selling England by the Pound. The first solo album, Voyage of the Acolyte, was released in 1975, and it marks the start of a solo catalog that runs alongside the Genesis years in Hackett's work.

The Solo Gems Tour places that solo material at the center of the evening, as the title indicates. The music is guitar-led and rooted in progressive rock, with compositions that draw on the band-era writing and the solo albums that followed.

The Warner Theatre hosts concerts and shows in Washington. The night suits listeners who follow progressive rock, admire Genesis-era guitar work, or want to hear a musician's solo output in a theater setting.
