Sts9 is an American band from Atlanta, Georgia, formed in 1995 under the name Sound Tribe Sector 9, which the group later shortened to its current form. Its music sits in the rock and indie field, built on extended instrumental passages and electronic textures that connect it to the jam scene. The band has built much of its following through live performance, and its sound centers on long improvised sections.

The concert takes place at The Castro Theatre, a San Francisco venue that hosts concerts and shows, and is open to audiences 18 and over. Several dates are scheduled on this visit, which suits listeners who already know the band's recorded catalog as well as newcomers curious about its jam-based approach.
