Team Dresch

Team Dresch is an American rock band from Olympia, Washington, playing at Sleeping Village in Chicago. The night brings the band's Pacific Northwest riot grrrl and queercore roots to a Chicago stage.

Team Dresch was formed in Olympia, Washington, in the early 1990s by Donna Dresch and Jody Bleyle, both part of the city's riot grrrl and queercore scenes. The band's debut album, Personal Best, came out in 1993 and became one of the reference points of that circle. Its songs combine fast, guitar-driven rock with the direct, do-it-yourself approach of the Olympia underground of the period.

Sleeping Village is a Chicago venue that hosts concerts and shows, and this booking places the band on its program. The evening suits listeners who follow 1990s Pacific Northwest punk and riot grrrl music, as well as anyone interested in the roots of queercore. Team Dresch's catalog is built around guitar and drums, with Donna Dresch and Jody Bleyle among its founding members.
