Thao

Thao is a pop, rock and indie act performing at The Independent in San Francisco. The project is built around the band Thao & the Get Down Stay Down.

Thao & the Get Down Stay Down, the band fronted by the artist Thao, has released several full-length albums, including We the Common. Their songs combine indie rock guitar arrangements with pop-leaning melodies and a songwriting style rooted in folk, so the music sits between the pop, rock and indie categories this evening covers. Listeners who follow indie rock bands built around a strong singer and songwriter will find the core of the project in those records.

The Independent is a San Francisco venue for concerts and shows, so this booking brings the act to a local stage for a live rock and indie night in the city. The evening suits anyone already familiar with the recordings who wants to hear the songs performed live, as well as listeners new to the band who want a first look at its catalog in concert.
