Irish traditional music is built on dance tunes and songs passed down orally, and it is usually played on instruments such as fiddle, flute, tin whistle, and bodhrán. For listeners new to the form, the concert offers a direct view of how these tunes are performed by a band formed in the 2010s tradition of Irish folk revival.
