Thievery Corporation

Thievery Corporation is an electronic music duo from Washington, D.C., formed in 1995 by Rob Garza and Eric Hilton. Its music blends downtempo electronica and dub with reggae, bossa nova and other Brazilian and world music rhythms. Early records such as Radio Retaliation (1996) and The Cosmic Game (2000) set out the group's approach, which it developed further on The Richest Man in Babylon (2002) and later albums.

Across these releases the duo has worked with a changing roster of guest vocalists, so the sound shifts from track to track while keeping a steady, groove-based character. The music suits listeners who follow lounge-leaning grooves and global sounds, and the group's roots in the nation's capital are a constant part of its identity.

The show takes place at 9:30 Club, a Washington venue that hosts concerts and shows. It is a fitting setting for a local act whose music has been built around the city where it started.
