Unkle

Unkle is a British project led by James Lavelle, presented in concert at The Independent in San Francisco. Its music spans pop, rock and indie, with electronic production at its core.

Unkle was formed in London in the early 1990s around James Lavelle, a DJ who had founded the Mo'Wax label in 1992. The project's debut album, Psyence Fiction, came out in 1998, and its follow-up, War Stories, followed in 2004. Across its releases, the music moves between electronic textures and rock song structures.

The Independent is a San Francisco venue that hosts concerts and shows. The evening suits listeners who follow the project's recorded catalogue and want to hear its songs performed live.
