Walter Beasley

A smooth jazz concert by Walter Beasley at the Birchmere in Alexandria, with a saxophone-led style built on melodic lines and steady grooves.

Walter Beasley is a smooth jazz artist whose music is built around the saxophone, with melodic lines and steady grooves at the center rather than extended improvisation. The project belongs to the smooth jazz tradition that developed in American radio and recording in the late twentieth century, a style associated with polished arrangements and accessible melodies.

The Birchmere hosts concerts and shows in Alexandria. Given its saxophone-led sound, the evening suits listeners who follow contemporary instrumental jazz and enjoy melodic, groove-based music.
