About — The artist
Ensiferum (literally "sword bearer") is a Finnish folk metal band from Helsinki. Their music is characterised by epic atmospheres with varied rhythms and choirs alternating between guttural vocals and clean singing. They are classed as Viking metal because of the themes addressed in their songs and their imagery.
Alongside Turisas, Moonsorrow, Finntroll and Korpiklaani, they are considered among the leading representatives of Finnish folk metal.
