Caitlin Cook: The Hero We (sort of) Need

A stand-up comedy hour by Caitlin Cook, presented at The Bill Murray in London, built around new songs, personal anecdotes and projected visuals. It follows the performer's earlier one-woman show The Writing on the Stall.

The show takes as its starting point a childhood belief of the performer's: that everyone has a superpower. It explores what happens when, among eight billion people, one's special gift proves to be oddly narrow and specific, and the humour comes from that gap between grand idea and everyday result.

The production is a comedy hour that mixes spoken storytelling with new songs and projected visuals, so it moves between stand-up material and musical numbers. It is a new piece rather than a revival of earlier work, although it returns to the same performer whose one-woman show The Writing on the Stall was a long-running hit on stage at Edinburgh and on tour.

Caitlin Cook is a comedian, musician and artist whose work blends comedy, music and theatre. The show suits audiences who enjoy comic songwriting and personal storytelling. The Bill Murray is a London venue that hosts concerts and shows, and this performance is one of its comedy bookings.
