Overview
Gary On Laughing is a stand-up comedy show by Gary Delaney, an English writer and comedian, presented at the Opera House in Manchester. It is a brand new programme of material from the performer.
Gary On Laughing is a new stand-up show built entirely from fresh jokes, following a long run of Gary Delaney's previous UK touring. The material relies on quick one-liners and wordplay, and reviews quoted in the publicity praised the inventiveness of the puns and the craft of the delivery.
The humour is frankly adult and bawdy, so the evening suits audiences who enjoy saucy, rude comedy rather than family entertainment. Delaney performs alone on stage, delivering the material directly to the auditorium in a stand-up format.
The show takes place at the Opera House, Manchester, a venue that hosts concerts and shows in the city. Critics quoted in the material, including the Guardian, the Scotsman, the Times and Chortle, described the performer as a master of the one-liner, and the production is aimed at people who want a sharp, joke-driven hour of comedy.
