One Day – The Musical

One Day – The Musical is a stage adaptation of the bestselling novel of the same name, presented at the Garrick Theatre in London. It follows two characters, Emma and Dexter, across the years after they meet.

The production adapts the novel that has reached a very large readership, following Emma and Dexter from the night they meet at their graduation. The story traces how their lives move in and out of step over successive years, with the highs and setbacks of that relationship at its centre. Themes of romance, ambition and the turns that life takes are part of the material on which the musical is built.

The source material presents the show as a life-affirming work that aims to convey the intensity of youthful romance and the lasting hope that love can endure. It is a theatrical version of a novel rather than a concert, so the evening is a staged musical with a book and songs drawn from that story.

The Garrick Theatre is a London theatre that hosts concerts and shows. The musical suits audiences who know the novel and those who come to a new story about two people across many years.
