Ronnie's Lates: South with Wonky Logic

A late-night jazz session in London led by Wonky Logic, pairing improvised playing with a full band performing original music, in the spirit of the Ronnie Scott's Late Late Show.

Ronnie's Lates: South with Wonky Logic carries the late-night format of the Ronnie Scott's Late Late Show from Soho to Peckham. The music of Wonky Logic places improvised jazz alongside electronic production, with live breaks running through the material.

The performance opens with Wonky Logic alone, using improvised passages, extended jams and live electronics. Friends and collaborators then join on stage for a full-band set of original pieces, drawing on early beat sketches as well as recent releases. The arrangements lean on off-kilter grooves and a heavy low end, leaving space for the band to stretch out.

The evening suits listeners drawn to jazz that borrows from electronic music and its rhythmic ideas. It is staged at Peckham audio, a London venue that hosts concerts and shows.
