girli + Support

Girli, a British singer and rapper working in an alternative pop style, performs live at Band On The Wall in Manchester, with a support act on the same bill. The concert follows the artist's debut album and a streaming hit.

Girli is a British singer and rapper whose music sits in an alternative pop register. Active since 2014, the artist released the debut album Odd One Out in 2019 through Virgin EMI Records. Over recent years the work has developed a frank, outspoken approach to pop, and it has built a fanbase that gathers largely online.

Much of that following is made up of LGBTQ+ teenagers and listeners who are politically engaged, and the singer openly speaks up on causes they care about. The track More Than A Friend has become a queer anthem and has outpaced every earlier streaming record, with more than 40 million combined streams.

This evening brings the headline artist together with a support act. Band On The Wall is a concert and performance venue in Manchester's Northern Quarter, and the bill places the artist's pop and rap-influenced songs in that setting.
