José González

A London concert at Eventim Apollo featuring José González, the Swedish indie folk musician, with Beth Orton, the British singer-songwriter, also named on the bill.

José González is a Swedish indie folk musician of Argentine descent, born in 1978 in Gothenburg. He made his debut in 2003 on Mute Records with the album Veneer. Beth Orton is a British singer-songwriter born in 1970, whose music has blended folk, soul, pop and folktronica since 1993.

The listing gives the genre as blues, country and folk, a broader label than the one used in the artists'own biographies. Both artists are named in the listing, and the account of their backgrounds above is the basis for what to expect from the evening.

Eventim Apollo hosts concerts and shows in London. This bill suits listeners interested in song-based acoustic music and in two singer-songwriters with different routes into folk.
