Paddington The Musical

A stage musical based on Michael Bond's Paddington stories, with original songs by Tom Fletcher and a book by Jessica Swale, presented at the Savoy Theatre in London.

This production adapts the characters created by Michael Bond, whose books and the award-winning films about the bear have already reached a wide audience. The story follows a young bear from Peru who arrives in London looking for a new home and is taken in by the Brown family in Windsor Gardens.

The musical is directed by Luke Sheppard. Its music and lyrics are by Tom Fletcher, and the book is by Jessica Swale, who has won an Olivier Award. The material describes the plot as turning on a family that must decide how far it is willing to go to keep the bear, as Paddington's situation becomes precarious and the household faces tensions of its own.

The Savoy Theatre is a West End venue that hosts concerts and shows in London. Captioned, signed and audio described performances are scheduled on this run, so the production is accessible to a range of audiences.
