Smithereens are an American rock band formed in Carteret, New Jersey, in 1980, working in a guitar-driven power pop style. Pat DiNizio sings and plays guitar in the line-up, alongside Jim Babjak on guitar and Dennis Diken on drums. Their best-known records include the 1986 album Especially for You, which features the single Blood and Roses.
The night suits listeners who follow pop, rock and indie, with the band's melodic songwriting at the centre of the material. Next Door Records is a London venue that hosts concerts and shows, so the evening sits within its regular programme of live music.
