TV For Cats + Iko Chérie

A pop, rock and indie bill pairing TV for Cats with Iko Chérie, two acts with songs that balance playful melodies against more reflective material, at Mascara Bar in London.

TV for Cats write songs that sound direct and bright at first, then reveal stranger layers on repeated listening. Melancholy lyrics sit alongside melodies that stick, driven by synths, so the material moves between the playful and the reflective.

Iko Chérie is the solo project of Marie Merlet, a multi-instrumentalist born in France and based in London. The music draws on dub-inflected textures and pop-tinged vocals, with reverb-heavy guitars, Casio drones and experimental noise, producing a delicate and understated sound.

Mascara Bar is a London venue that hosts concerts and shows. On this bill, the two acts share a pop, rock and indie programme, with the sets presenting contrasting approaches to songwriting and texture.
