BEAT: Belew/Vai/Levin/Bozzio Performing the Music of KING CRIMSON

A concert by BEAT, a rock project led by Adrian Belew, Steve Vai, Tony Levin and Terry Bozzio that performs the music of King Crimson, at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood.

BEAT is a rock project built around four musicians with long ties to King Crimson: Adrian Belew, who sang and played guitar with the group in the early 1980s, bassist Tony Levin, a longtime member of the group's lineup, guitarist Steve Vai, and drummer Terry Bozzio, who was also in King Crimson during the same period. The project takes its name from King Crimson's 1982 album Beat.

This evening is a tribute to King Crimson and not a performance by King Crimson itself. The repertoire is drawn from the group's catalog, which began in London in 1969 under the leadership of guitarist Robert Fripp, whose debut album In the Court of the Crimson King set the template for the band's progressive rock sound.

The YouTube Theater in Inglewood hosts concerts and shows, so the evening suits listeners who want to hear King Crimson's music performed by musicians connected to the band's history.
