Classic and Creative Cocktails Class - DC

A hands-on cocktail class in Washington, D.C., where participants learn basic bartending by making classic and modern drinks in pairs at the Hyatt Place Washington DC/White House.

This workshop introduces the basics of bartending through a mix of classic and contemporary cocktails. An instructor demonstrates shaking, stirring, muddling and garnishing for each drink. The menu includes a Whiskey Sour, which can be prepared in variations, a tropical Blue Hawaiian, a Madras, and a Margarita made with either tequila or whiskey. A Twisted Punch mocktail is offered as a non-alcoholic option.

After the demonstrations, participants work in pairs, sharing ingredients and equipment, and each pair makes two cocktails of its choice using professional bar tools. The session covers basic bar equipment and how to balance flavors in a drink, so the techniques can be repeated at home.

The class suits both cocktail enthusiasts and those who simply want to learn something new. It takes place at the Hyatt Place Washington DC/White House, and guests are asked to arrive a little early to check in.
