Dweezil Zappa DZ20: Like Father, Like Son

Dweezil Zappa brings the DZ20 program, Like Father, Like Son, to the St. George Theatre in Staten Island. The show draws on the music of his father, the composer Frank Zappa.

Dweezil Zappa is an American rock and psychedelic rock guitarist, born in 1969 in Los Angeles. He made his debut in 1986 and released the album Havin'a Bad Day on Zappa Records the same year. The title Like Father, Like Son points to the family connection behind the project, which places his guitar work alongside the music of Frank Zappa.

The St. George Theatre hosts concerts and shows in Staten Island, and this evening is part of that program of live music. The concert is a pop, rock and indie night, with a repertoire rooted in rock guitar.

The evening suits listeners who follow rock guitar and want to hear a performer who has spent his career working in the rock and psychedelic rock tradition, and fans interested in the Zappa catalog will find the connection at the center of the program.
