Friday Night in the Sidebar w/ JOEY ACOPIADO!

A jazz concert by Joey Acopiado, titled Friday Night in the Sidebar, at Fitzgeralds Sidebar in Berwyn, a suburb west of Chicago.

Joey Acopiado performs jazz in this Friday evening concert, billed as Friday Night in the Sidebar. Jazz grew out of African American musical traditions in the United States, built on improvisation, swing and the blues, and it spans everything from small groups to large orchestras.

Among the genre's foundational figures are Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington, whose recordings and big-band writing from the 1920s and 1930s shaped jazz's swing and ensemble traditions. This evening brings live jazz to Berwyn for listeners who want to hear the genre in that lineage.

Fitzgeralds Sidebar hosts concerts and shows in Berwyn, a suburb west of Chicago, and this jazz evening brings live music to the western suburbs for listeners who want to hear the genre close to home.
