Jazz in the Sidebar w/ Aval Stanley Zaucha Organ Trio!

A jazz evening with the Aval Stanley Zaucha Organ Trio at Fitzgeralds Sidebar in Berwyn, a suburb west of Chicago, built around the Hammond organ and small-group jazz.

Jazz in the Sidebar with the Aval Stanley Zaucha Organ Trio is a jazz booking at Fitzgeralds Sidebar in Berwyn, a suburb west of Chicago. The act takes its name from the organ trio, a small-group jazz format centered on the Hammond organ, which places the instrument at the heart of the sound.

Organ trios grew out of the jazz tradition of the 1950s and 1960s, when the organ often covered both bass lines and melody alongside a drummer and a guitarist or saxophonist. The format remains a common route for small-group jazz played in clubs, with the emphasis on groove, improvisation and close interplay among the players.

Fitzgeralds Sidebar hosts concerts and shows in Berwyn, and this booking brings a jazz program into that programming. The evening suits listeners who follow organ-led small-group jazz and want to hear the format performed live close to Chicago.
