John Cameron Mitchell: Hedwig 25th Anniversary Movie Tour

John Cameron Mitchell celebrates the 25th anniversary of Hedwig and the Angry Inch with a special screening and performance tour in New Orleans.

John Cameron Mitchell brings the 25th Anniversary Movie Tour to New Orleans for a special screening and live performance celebration. The project centers around the groundbreaking rock musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch, created by John Cameron Mitchell and Stephen Trask, which premiered off-Broadway in 1998 before being adapted into the acclaimed 2001 feature film. The story follows Hedwig Robinson, an east-Berlin rock singer living through a botched gender-confirmation surgery and exploring identity through punk and glam rock.

This event takes place at The Fillmore New Orleans, a venue that hosts concerts and shows in New Orleans. The program appeals to fans of cult cinema, musical theater history, and independent film culture, offering a rare retrospective look at a work that redefined queer representation and rock storytelling on stage and screen.
