Napa and Sonoma Wine Tour from San Francisco

A full-day day trip from San Francisco to the wine country north of the Bay, with guided tastings at one winery in Napa Valley and another in Sonoma. It is a good fit for visitors who want an overview of the region in one day.

The day starts in San Francisco with a scenic drive and a photo stop at the Golden Gate Bridge, then continues north to Napa Valley, where the first guided tasting takes place. The route moves on to Sonoma Square, a historic plaza, where lunch is set aside as an extended break. Guests can eat locally or stop at one of the tasting rooms around the square for an additional pour.

In the afternoon, a second guided tasting takes place at a winery in Sonoma before the return to San Francisco. An optional stop in Sausalito can be added to the itinerary, with the trip back made by ferry or bus.

Guests who do not drink alcohol can book a version of the trip that includes no wine tastings, while keeping the same scenery, stops and lunch break. The trip suits visitors passing through the Bay Area who want to see several parts of Northern California wine country in a single day, without arranging transport or tastings themselves.
