Nora Jean Wallace Blues Band/Joanna Connor Blues Band

A blues double bill pairing the Nora Jean Wallace Blues Band and the Joanna Connor Blues Band at Kingston Mines - Chicago Blues Center in Chicago. The evening spans blues, country and folk.

Joanna Connor is a blues guitarist and singer who plays slide guitar, and the Joanna Connor Blues Band carries that name as its project. Nora Jean Wallace leads the Nora Jean Wallace Blues Band. Each act performs under its own leader, so the bill presents two separate blues projects rather than one combined group.

The music on this bill draws on blues, country and folk, roots styles that trace back to the American traditions the blues grew out of. Both bands work within that blues framework, which makes the pairing a direct comparison of two approaches to the same tradition.

Kingston Mines - Chicago Blues Center hosts concerts and shows in Chicago, and its name places the evening within the city's blues tradition. It suits listeners who want to hear blues played live in a club.
