Rocky Mountain High Experience: A John Denver Christmas

A holiday concert by Rocky Mountain High, a tribute project built around the songs of John Denver, staged at Capital One Hall in Tysons. The music draws on country, folk and blues.

Rocky Mountain High is a tribute to John Denver, the American singer-songwriter whose recordings spanned folk, country and pop from the 1960s until his death in 1997. Denver's best-known songs include "Take Me Home, Country Roads," "Rocky Mountain High," "Annie's Song" and "Sunshine on My Shoulders." The performers honor his catalog; they are not the original artist.

This evening, A John Denver Christmas, centers on seasonal material in the spirit of Denver's own holiday recordings, with country, folk and blues arrangements of his songs. The program is presented as a tribute, so the focus is on his melodies and lyrics rather than on a single voice or original band.

Capital One Hall in Tysons hosts concerts and shows, and this program suits listeners who grew up with Denver's music or who enjoy folk and country songs during the holiday season.
